Our Story
How We Met
It all started quite unexpectedly at work. While we were busy navigating the daily grind, we eventually found ourselves grabbing beers after hours, trading stories and realizing there was a connection that went far beyond the office walls.
As it turns out, the universe had been trying to introduce us for a long time. While we finally met in Montreal, we later discovered a hidden twist in our timelines: years earlier, Karina had lived in the very same town in France where Michael grew up. In a classic "missed connection," he had moved away just as she was arriving to spend a year there.
We may have missed each other across the ocean back then, but we're so glad we finally caught up to one another right here at home.
The Proposal
During a trip to Mexico, Michaël led us on a long walk toward the water. Karina had no idea where they were going, and our son, only two at the time, was happily oblivious to the big moment ahead.
When we reached a spot overlooking the crystal blue sea, Michaël got down on one knee. It was so completely unexpected that Karina's first reaction wasn't shock… it was laughter. For a split second, she honestly thought he might be joking. It was a moment of pure, startled joy that felt perfectly us.
